The New Year is upon us and this year is going to be bigger and better! It’s important to make those personal resolutions, but what about your small business?
It deserves a kick in the butt too, right? Our personal resolutions can easily relate to our business resolutions…just with a little tweaking.
1. LOSE WEIGHT
Feeling overwhelmed and like your attention isn’t focused where it should be? Outsourcing is the key to helping you take a load off. Dump those in-house tasks that are taking up time from you or your staff which, if you’re honest with yourself, are tasks you aren’t 100% knowledgeable of to begin with. Whether it’s accounting, marketing, or even office cleaning…you can find the right professional for a great price.
2. GET ORGANIZED
Feeling cluttered and out of sorts? Start by reviewing the processes and procedures you have in place. Make to-do lists, design procedure sheets for certain tasks, and find a place to store them where they can be accessed anywhere. There are many resources you can seek out to help. Task management software and cloud storage are definitely worth looking into.
3. QUIT SMOKING
Is your bottom line burning a hole in your pocket? Take the time to review your expenses on a regular basis to see if there are any areas of concern.
You’d be surprised how quickly things can get out of hand if you don’t stay on top of it and review periodically. Your accountant is happy to assist you with current review and projections. Just ask!
4. LEARN SOMETHING NEW
You may be very good at what you do and extremely knowledgeable in your field, but there’s always room for improvement. Your industry is constantly changing, so you need to change with it.
Keep your eye out for seminars and continuing education opportunities. Your small business will be ever-evolving and bringing back new ideas will keep your staff morale high.
5. SPEND MORE TIME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Feel like you’re tied down to your business and can’t make room for your personal life? Fulfilling the above-mentioned resolutions and learning to delegate to your trusted staff can make this dream achievable. Family and friends helped you get where you are…don’t forget about them!
You obviously did something right to get this far…keep the dream alive. Set your goals and find the proper resources to help you achieve them…they’re right at your fingertips.
So join me, won’t you? Let’s pop the champagne and give a big fat cheer to 2017!
