Hey…I thought software updates were supposed to improve my workflow, not make it worse!
If you’re like me, you might be wondering where your client and vendor lists suddenly disappeared to in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Recently, Intuit rolled out an update to QuickBooks Online. As part of that update, they moved where you can access the client and vendor lists, inexplicably making them more difficult to access.
The purpose of this post is to let you know where these two critical components are located now and to share a great resolution for Windows users who access QBO through an internet browser.
To access the client list, you must first click on “Sales” from the left menu, then the client list becomes available from clicking the tab at the top of the screen labeled “Clients”.
To access the vendor list, you must first click on “Expenses” from the left menu, then the vendor list becomes available from clicking the tab at the top of the screen labeled “Vendors”.
I’m NOT a fan of these changes and neither are my QBO clients because those are two of the menus that are accessed most frequently. Thankfully, there’s a simple workaround until Intuit realizes their mistake…..BOOKMARKS!
You can save both the client list and the vendor list as a bookmark within your browser, making it extremely easy to access.
Plus, if you have more than one company set up on QBO, you can use the same bookmark to access the lists, regardless of which company you are logged into.
I’m guessing Intuit will be getting plenty of customer complaints about these changes and will end up changing it back to the way it was before, or something similar, but until then at least you now have a simple resolution!
This is just one small example of how working with Virtual BeanCounters can make your life a little bit easier. We work hard to stay on top of inconveniences like these and keep our clients informed on how they can be most efficient.
